Some Recent Watercolours
Aira Beck Cascades
A recent trip to the Lake District provided inspiration for this watercolour. These small cascades are in the higher ground above the large Aira Force waterfall, subject of a more abstract acrylic painting I have produced. This watercolour is presented in a double mount of ivory/green in a standard 18x14inch natural oak frame.
Poppies and Corn
A free impression of poppies done in watercolour using wet into wet washes and a bit of fun painting with a pipette in places rather than a brush. In a double mount of ivory/soft green and fits a standard 18x14 inch frame.
Fading Glories - SOLD
Seedheads have a beauty of their own once the flowers been and gone. This watercolour was judged 'Best in Class' for watercolour/gouache at the 2020 Faringdon Art Society exhibition.
Presented in a double mount mat of ivory/maroon in a standard 18 x 14" frame.
White Butterflies
This was part of a collaboration with local poets for the Oxfordshire Artweeks exhibition and is my interpretation of the haiku poem by Dorothy Burrows:
"An August meadow;
white butterflies milk thistles;
Nature's dainty dance."
